This Thanksgiving we have family in our home celebrating with us. We are so excited!!! Presently, Greg's mother is in our kitchen already preparing some of the food for tonight's dinner. I helped her with some of the prep work last night and I will be making a potato casserole later. I'm trying to stay off my feet as much as possible so most of the food that I would have had to prepare I bought from Publix. I've gotten good reviews of Publix's food so I will let you know how it turns out.
Greg and his Dad left out this morning to participate in a 10k race, the turkey trot. They all did really good and he's excited about the outcome. I've been watching the Macy's Day Parade and the kids are into it this year too. Besides that, we are just looking forward to tonight's dinner. It is always nice to have good food and good conversation.
I wish you all a Happy Thanksgiving Day! Enjoy your day however you spend it. Celebrate!
I am blessed to be called a wife and a mother. Join me as I share my journey of my Super Life!

Interesting Read
from Perry Noble. I found this message well written and wanted to share it here. Be inspired!
Questions About The Election
Here are some questions that have been floated my way…
#1 - Do you think the results of this election will lead to the end of the world as we know it?
NO! It really bothered me when some loony Christian wingnut called into a local talk show yesterday and talked about how the Bible predicted this would happen…
Now I’m no scholar…but I’ve read it from cover to cover on multiple occasions and I’ve never even seen Obama’s name!!!
The president of the United States does not hold the universe in His hands!!! God does–period!
#2 - If I don’t like the results of the election, what should I do?
I personally believe the Scriptures tell us to pray for our government leaders–whether we agree with them or not. We live in a country where we have the right to express our opinions…but I think it is hypocritical for a follower of Jesus to slam someone in a leadership position if they haven’t sincerely sought the Lord on their behalf.
#3 - What do you think will happen over the next four years?
Uh…I think I will eat some ice cream and watch some football games…other than that I am really not sure…and neither is anyone else.
#4 - Why didn’t you publically endorse a political candidate?
Because it simply isn’t Biblical. The purpose of the platform I have been given is to exalt Christ…NOT a political party!
#5 - Why do you seem to be anti-politics?
I’m not; in fact, I love politics. I study them a lot and I read about them as well. I have some friends that are really into the political scene that I pray for often.
BUT…the job of the church is not to legislate morality, which is what some idiots believe they can accomplish if a certain party is in power.
Change isn’t the result of who is in the White House…but rather who is in the heart of a man or woman!
I would be more than willing to discuss my political views one on one…and I’m sure it would be fun!!!
#6 - Are you and Tony Morgan going to make a run for the White House in four years?
Absolutely! I think we will win in a landslide!
#7 - What would be the first law that you passed if you were elected president?
I would do away with the BCS system and make them have a college football playoff! That would establish a legacy that would NEVER die!!!

A Moment Like This
is breath-taking! Last night my husband and I sat glued to the television as we watched history being made. It's official--Barack Obama is the President-elect and it is a proud moment for most Americans. Words cannot describe how I felt. It was exhilarating! I'm so excited for all the possibilities for America. As I watched the crowd gathered in Chicago celebrating Obama's victory, there was one thought going through my head, "the face of America is changing!" When I looked at the crowd I saw America as it is suppose to be (the way God intended for the whole world to be), united with people of all different races. I was proud!
Barack Obama stated that out of many we are one and I smiled the entire time because that was what it was like for me growing up the first half of my life in Jamaica. In fact, that is actually Jamaica's motto and I love hearing it. Unity is important. All the States of America (red or blue) need to be united and this is my hope.
America has spoken loud and clear. They want change. Never again should we hear the words, "I can't." Yes, we can! It was a beautiful moment to watch the first African-American being elected President. It's a historical moment worthy of celebration whether you voted for Obama or not. America needs to come together and embrace her destiny.

Blogger Award

Lady Melissa sent me this award. I need to answer the following questions:
Seven Things I did Before...
1.) My first job was a waitress at a retirement home and it didn't last very long (all of 3 days). I was only 16.
2.) I was in several fashion shows in High School.
3.) I've carried a water bucket on my head (I grew up in a third world country).
4.) I taught myself to ride my bike. I was ten and would get on a hill, jump on the bike and try to balance and pedal until I crashed. After several times I didn't crash anymore and I could ride and then I taught my sister too!
5.) My sister and I wrote our own mystery books after being inspired by Nancy Drew and Hardy boys.
6.) I would teach young children how to read and help them with their homework. I really considered myself a good teacher. I was 12.
7.) I once ate mangoes until I started vomiting. I was so sick! But I still love mangoes.

Freedom
Last night my husband and I entertained ourselves by watching, "The Secret Lives of Bees." While we enjoyed the movie thoroughly we were sadly reminded of the cost of freedom for many African Americans who gave their lives so that we can have rights in this country. Personally, I appreciate the price they had to pay and that's why I am currently embracing my right to vote (btw, my husband and I voted weeks ago--early voting in Florida, and so we cannot be "pressured" into swaying our votes). With that being said, I would now like to address some of the comments I received about my previous post. I appreciate all the comments that stated that they found the post interesting and agreed with my point of view. However, I did receive some comments (on my blog and through my personal e-mail) that had several concerns with what I posted. First and foremost, I would like to remind everyone reading this blog that this blog is used solely for the purpose of expressing myself. You will read about my views, beliefs, ideas, pet peeves and any other issue I choose to write about. You are welcome to read my blog but if you are offended then I will make no apologies. This is my blog and I will write and say what I please. I am not afraid to exercise my freedom of speech. If you've known me for any amount of time(and really know me) then you already know; I'm real. I say what I mean and I don't sugarcoat. My true feelings are always shared; infact, phoniness drives me crazy! If you still have a problem with my blog then you have the right to not visit my blog again.
Now, here are some concerns regarding my previous post:
1) The video that I spoke of is said to be quite tasteful and should not have offended me -First, I did not say anywhere in my post that I was offended by the video nor did I oppose to its' tastefulness. The point that I was addressing with the video is that it was very misleading. While the General Superintendent insisted that he was not going to endorse any candidate, the video went on to show a series of pictures and words urging every Christian to vote pro-life. It would have been just as suggestive if the video had showed pictures of people dying during the war and then urge Christians to vote to end the war. Most Americans know where each candidate stand on the issue of pro-life and ending the war.
2) Once again I will not reconsider the motivation in the showing of the video in any church I believe that Pastors should not tell anyone or even suggest to anyone which candidate they should vote for. We all have the right to choose for ourselves and using the art of suggestion in a video to persuade members of the congregation to choose one way or the other is in my opinion tactless and wrong. I agree that instead everyone should pray and vote the way their heart leads them to. Today, I was watching a program "Faith & Politics" on CNN and they interviewed 2 different Pastors (one supporting McCain and one supporting Obama) and they were both giving valid reasons as to why Christians should vote for their ideal candidate. They each had a different perspective. The program even interviewed a Catholic woman who said that every Christian should vote for McCain and then they showed a Christian man saying that he was voting for Obama because he believes that Obama was better for the country overall. This just goes to show that there are many differing opinions out there. This is why I believe that the church and their leaders should stay out of politics and stop telling people that they will not endorse any candidate but continue to show videos, write on their blogs and facebook and myspace about their enthusiasm for a certain candidate. People don't need the pressure; they have minds of their owns. They can think and vote on their own.
